Journey & History
About — My History
Hello! I am so glad you are here. I have been passionate about painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. My work is held in private collections across the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia, often featuring themes of animals, plants and people.
I employ a diverse range of styles and painterly techniques to explore the visual experiences of painting, creating uplifting surfaces through atmospheric perspective, glazes, drips and bold marks. I reinvent my experiences and interests through a combination of photographs, memory and imagination, embracing the subtleties and contrasts that emerge from loose brushwork alongside detailed, representational elements. A commitment to sustainability informs my practice, as I often use found or upcycled materials.
Nature serves as my muse and a driving force in my life. I frequently sketch and photograph natural scenes for reference in the studio. I want give nature a voice. I view the protection of the natural environment as a moral obligation and an imperative. I strive to reflect this commitment in my work. I always give a percentage of my sales toward environmental causes. Since 2022 I have donated over $2,000 to nonprofits such as Legacy Fund For the Environment, Bird Protection Quebec, McGill Bird Observatory, Urbanature Education, Le Nichoir and others.
