Whimsical Birds to Colour

Whimsical Birds to Colour is comprised of more than 25 full page pen and ink drawings to colour in, the coil-bound book lies flat to make the pages easier to colour and allow artists to remove the completed pages. It is printed on 80-pound matte paper with a glossy, full-colour cover. The book was associated with Bird Protection Quebec (who wrote the forward) and functions as a fundraiser for bird habitat protection. Most of the illustrations were based on photos taken by virtual friends, local and worldwide, met via social media; so this is really a child of the pandemic and our global connectedness. The book features lively and imaginative/zentangle type illustrations of birds in their typical environment. Each bird’s image is accompanied by a page of interesting facts with mini-illustrations of insects, fruits, plants and critters — ready to be coloured as well.  Also included is a bird-watching list to help readers get started.

There is a Facebook group where you can interact with other colouring fans worldwide and all ages. Some of the photographers are members of this page as well.
