Hummingbirds in Lipstick Plants

I have a few Instagram “friends”, one being Megan – and she takes astonishing photos- and said I could use them in my paintings. In Native American culture, hummingbirds are seen as healers and bringers of love, good luck and joy. In Central America, they are a sign of love and will bring love to the person who spots them. Hummingbirds alone have the ability to fly moving their wings in the pattern of an infinity symbol (the figure 8). Hummingbirds also symbolize great courage, determination, flexibility and adaptability. I love hummingbirds of all kinds, and always keep my eyes open anywhere I go in case I am lucky enough to spend time observing one. They are delicate but incredibly resilient and strong, flying tremendous distances every day. This painting lives in my dining room and I see it daily. I will be sad to see it go, but happy if it brings joy to another home.
