Beings

My paintings stem from something personal; dreams, longing, wonderment. I love painting figures, sharing a secret, spying, telling only a piece of the story and letting you invent the rest. They are an attempt to reconcile the things I love to portray in some semi-cohesive way.
These artworks are derived from multiple long term projects. One set of images is from the “Dreamers” series which seeks to explore the state between wakefulness and sleep. Another set of images are part of “Voices for The Wild”, a series honouring female environmental activists from Canada. Lately I am also very interested in Goddesses and Faeries. Wood Nymphs and Sprites…always: feminine beauty, mystery and power; and the compelling stories of the human form.
